About the Role:
The Royal Automobile Club of Australia (RACA) is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Functions Sales & Events Coordinator to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys engaging with clients, and has a passion for event planning and sales. You will play a key role in securing function bookings, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring exceptional experiences for our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in menu tastings, proposal preparation, contract management, and invoice processing.
Collaborate with marketing and membership teams to enhance club events and promotions.
Conduct sales calls and cold calling to generate new business opportunities.
Develop strong relationships with clients, anticipate their needs, and resolve any issues promptly.
Ensure all bookings and client details are accurately recorded in the club’s system (NorthStar).
Keep the Member Portal updated for online function, dining, accommodation, and event bookings.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RACA’s services to effectively promote and sell club offerings.
Oversee event logistics, ensuring smooth communication between clients and operations teams.
Prepare event calendars, promotional materials, and function reports for management.
Provide outstanding customer service, greeting members and clients by name and handling inquiries with professionalism.
Secure and manage function and event bookings, from corporate conferences to weddings and private events.
About You:
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to handling client needs.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience in events coordination, hospitality, or sales preferred.
Knowledge of NorthStar or similar event booking systems is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple bookings and deadlines.
Current RSA desirable
Current First Aid desirable

Perks of the Job:
Competitive Pay: Earn $55,000-70,000 annum and plus superannuation (*salary depending on experience) - entry level position and there is room for an increase after probation, and many opportunities to move up into other roles after 12 months in current position.
Probation Period: 6 months
