Transport Manager – Queensland
$130,000–$160,000 + Super | Full-Time | Metro & Regional QLD Travel
A leading national logistics group is looking for a Transport Manager to take ownership of contractor performance, driver standards, and delivery execution across Queensland. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role with real impact — combining safety, compliance, performance analysis, and contractor engagement.
The Role
You’ll oversee a large pool of contractor drivers across Queensland, with responsibility for assessing operational standards, enforcing compliance, managing cost, and improving performance across the board. The role is field-based, involving regular site visits and ride-alongs with drivers during afternoon and evening delivery windows.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site driver assessments and audits across metro and regional QLD, focusing on safety, tailgate use, roll cages, loading/unloading and SOP compliance.
Manage and review contractor performance against KPIs like on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and damage rates.
Conduct regular reviews and audits with contractors — including focused action plans for underperforming drivers.
Own and manage contractor onboarding, agreements, and vetting using a centralised platform.
Implement a non-conformance register and ensure follow-through to lift standards.
Maintain full compliance with regulations, SLAs, and company policies through risk assessments and structured audits.
Monitor and report on transport spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support commercial negotiations.
Collaborate with planning and ops teams to optimise logistics flows and implement process improvements.
Why Apply?
Join one of Australia’s most innovative logistics providers, known for exceptional delivery standards and tech-enabled operations.
Work with industry-leading tools and real-time data to drive performance and accountability.
Be part of a people-first culture that values long-term partnerships, operational excellence, and leadership that leads from the front.
Own a high-visibility role with state-wide impact, flexibility, and genuine autonomy.
