Salary Range: Level 3 $86,705 - $96,964 (dependent on experience) + 11.5% Superannuation
Location: Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Geraldton

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our Marine team as a Port Access Officer on a fixed term Part Time basis (0.5 FTE 4hrs per day/ 20 hrs per week, 9.00am to 1.00pm).

Mid West Ports Authority (MWPA) provides an essential service, connecting regional Australia to national and international markets as a specialist port catering to boutique and diverse operations.
MWPA operates seven (7) commercial berths and critical marine and land assets which enables the facilitation of trade for the Mid West region, exporting a variety of products including iron ore, grains, mineral sands, non-mineral sands and mineral concentrates. The Port also imports fuel, fertiliser and break bulk cargo. The Port of Geraldton also encompasses the Geraldton Fishing Boat Harbour (FBH), home to Geraldton’s fishing industry. The FBH provides significant opportunities for further development of the Port and activation of a thriving commercial and leisure industry hub.

About the Role
The Port Access Officer plays a critical role in supporting the Security and Emergency Response Supervisor/Port Security Officer (PSO) to ensure that Mid West Ports Authority complies with its legislative obligations to control access into the security regulated port.
The role is responsible for port access vetting, processing, and issuing port access cards. The role also assists with other duties related to compliance of the Maritime Security Plan, and the management of MWPA’s contracted security services.

Key qualifications and experience:
Essential
· Demonstrated time management skills with ability to manage concurrent priorities.
· Highly motivated self-starter who is able to work with minimum supervision.
· High level of attention to detail.
· A sound level of interpersonal and customer service skills.
· A sound level of English written business communication.
· Excellent / Sound computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and operating software.
