The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced permanent full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing, testing, and implementing new trench safety and propping products into the hire fleet for use in the Construction Industry across Australia. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise and collaborate with both clients and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions across diverse civil and structural projects.

Key Responsibilities

Conceptualize new products using 3D modelling software programs.

Prepare design concepts for review and critique by the wider Product Development team and make some adjustments for development of ideas.

Liaise with customers, Consultant Engineers, internal team members and other stakeholders during the product lifecycle.

Use appropriate computer programmes (including Finite Element Analysis capability) or other design criteria to ensure that the most efficient design is carried out.

Plan the steps of going from conceptualization to final product and coordinate these steps with invested stakeholders.

Communicate and direct the Manufacturing Team during the prototype development process.

Prepare mechanical drawings for fabrication by the internal manufacturing team and external fabrication suppliers.

Liaise with Testing Consultants to understand the testing requirements for proof testing and undertake same in a controlled environment.

Organise and help coordinate the operating manuals and final test certification documentation of any new product design brought to market.

What We’re Looking For

Advanced Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or other related field.

3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally with a focus on temporary works solutions.

Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and industry related documentation relevant to mechanical products.

Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Experience with site assessments and safety-focused engineering is a plus.
