About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Information and Data Manager, the Analyst, Data Management is a member of a team responsible for the implementation and support of organisation wide information and data management capabilities. As a member of broader Data Strategy, Management and Transformation team, you will deliver high-quality information and data management services and support, aligned to EPA's strategic priorities, to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste. This is an exciting role for an experienced information and data management professional who wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. You will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and ensure you achieve the highest standards of performance and integrity; and foster genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to support the delivery organisational outcomes.
In this role you will:
Act as administrative support for specific EPA information and data sharing / protection agreements with external agencies, as guided by the Senior Information and Data Manager
Take leading or supporting roles in developing and maintaining EPA's Business Classification Scheme, its Enterprise Taxonomy, Data Dictionary, Data Catalogue and other information and data management metadata schema.
- Act as custodian of the Information Asset Register: engage with stakeholders across EPA to ensure that information assets are registered, reviewed, maintained and disposed of in compliance with Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and Public Record Office Victoria directions.
- Provide support to Information Management colleagues as required e.g. aspects of Information Management Platform development, some management of physical records.
Skills and experience:
- A relevant tertiary degree in information technology, information management or a related discipline is desirable.
- Experience working and configuring cloud environments including SharePoint is highly desirable.
- Experience in maintaining data and information management tools e.g. Information Asset Register, data dictionary, Business Classification Scheme.
- Knowledge of and experience in applying digital records management tools such as Records365 (RecordPoint).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of information and data management concepts (e.g. the creation and use of metadata, applying retention and disposal actions to electronic records).
