Salary: VPS 4 - $97,955 to $111,142 + 11.5% superannuation

About the role:
Reporting to the Team Leader - Waste Transport, the Data Analyst and Reporting Officer - Waste will be a leader in the use of data analytics to support and direct focus for compliance and enforcement action, development and implementation of business performance reporting, and project management.
In this role you will:
- Regularly collect, collate, and analyse data to support compliance monitoring, investigations and set direction for operational intervention.
- Produce technical reports at an advanced professional level. Undertakes technical data analysis, modelling and prepares reports to be used as intelligence to direct compliance and enforcement focus.
- Lead the design, development and implementation of fit-for-purpose reporting and performance monitoring for the capturing of both quantitative and qualitative measures.
- Lead the sharing of Compliance Programs data with other organisations within EPA data sharing protocols, privacy and other considerations.
- Contribute to the upskilling of regional operations teams and other parts of EPA including by providing training and technical advice. Convey specialist concepts and policies to duty holders, staff and key stakeholders.
Skills and experience:
- A relevant tertiary degree or qualification or relevant practical working experience in data analytics, business reporting, program monitoring and evaluation is desirable.
- A deep understanding of Microsoft Dynamics including navigating and extracting data from Dynamics and the development of tailored dashboards for unique data insights
- Ability to manipulate large data sets and apply R, Power BI tools in business reporting, process re-engineering and model analysis.
- Proven ability in data analytics with demonstrated capability to collect, collate, and analyse data and information.
- Proven ability to defines governance e.g. success measures, roles and responsibilities, progress monitoring) required to manage risks and maximise probability of success
