Marcel Pacific is an Australian maritime technology company developing a next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) engineered for sovereign defence applications. Built for stealth & modularity, our platform is designed to meet the evolving needs of the ADF and allied underwater operations.

As we expand the program from R&D into capability demonstration and early production, we’re seeking a Technical Program Manager to take ownership of technical delivery, coordination, and field integration. This role is ideal for someone with a background in AUVs, underwater robotics, or complex autonomous systems—especially within multi-stakeholder defence environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the technical development lifecycle of the AUV platform—from prototype refinement to demonstration and operational deployment

Coordinate efforts across mechanical, software, control systems, and communications disciplines

Work with engineering leads, field operations, and Defence stakeholders to deliver against program milestones

Plan and execute system trials including in-water testing, autonomy evaluation, and user acceptance activities

Interface with Defence agencies, DSTG, and other user groups to refine user needs and feedback loops

Identify and resolve cross-functional issues to maintain velocity while ensuring compliance and safety

Develop and manage technical project timelines, risk registers, and stakeholder reporting frameworks

Act as the technical integrator across a fast-moving, multidisciplinary engineering team

Provide project scoping to assist with evidence-based costing of new developments.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience with underwater systems, subsea vehicles, or autonomous maritime technologies is strongly preferred.

5+ years of experience in technical program management, systems engineering, or robotics development

Strong engineering background and qualifications

A systems thinker who can manage integration across hardware, firmware, and field operations

Skilled communicator who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments

Familiar with modern technical management tools (JIRA, Confluence, Git, MS Project) and delivery frameworks

Eligible to obtain an NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance
