An Australian owned Multinational Freight Forwarder is seeking an Operations Manager to join their team at Perth Airport, WA to manage a small team of 3-4, handling Imports, Export and Domestic freight.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Running the day-to-day operations, domestic and international import and export air
• Supporting and leading a small team
• Liaising with airlines, agents, and customers
• Ensuring freight arrives / departs on time
• Booking and monitoring shipments, making sure all shipments are fully compliant and properly documented
• Finding ways to improve processes and help the team work smarter
• Building strong relationships with clients and keeping service levels high
• Managing the monthly budget and reporting to management

ABOUT YOU:

• Minimum 5 years local experience in similar role within Freight Forwarding
• Experience in time-critical, sensitive and specialised cargo
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• High attention to detail
• Strong time management and planning skills
• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel in particular)
• IT Savvy
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience (formal or informal)
• Great knowledge of local and international freight regulations and procedures
• A proactive, can-do attitude and someone who leads by example
• Business Development experience - an advantage
