The historic and charming township of Strathalbyn is widely regarded as one of the state’s loveliest rural destinations.

We are a dynamic and innovative racing club entering an exciting growth phase. Our venue offers a range of versatile event spaces including the elegant Members Room, the vibrant Behemoth Trackside Room, and the stylish Alcopop Room—all complemented by excellent bar facilities and picturesque outdoor areas.

We are currently seeking a passionate and customer-focused Events and Bar Manager to lead our events and hospitality operations and help drive our vision forward.

Job Description:

Oversee all aspects of event planning and management, including coordinating with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure successful events.

Race Day Bar trade reporting and reconciliation.

Bar set-up and stocking of all bar fridges, understanding Bar POS.

Host relations in conference rooms-making sure guests and sponsors are being catered and cared for.

Organising Race Day entertainment, if required. (Musicians, Fashion Show, Face Painters etc.)

RSA – Beverage and bar service. Relief Bar Staff when necessary.

Manage the bar operations, including inventory, ordering, stock control, staff scheduling, and maintaining quality service standards.

Develop and implement creative and profitable bar promotions and events to drive business and enhance the customer experience.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety within the bar and event spaces.

Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining records of events and bar operations.

Some knowledge of BPOS , Xero, Moshtix or Eventbrite will be an advantage, but training can be provided.

Excellent knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel.

Work with the CEO on Conference Packages, Costs and GP margins.

Assist with driving external events and social media in increasing sales.

Assist with marketing of Race Days and Events on social media

Qualifications:

Experience in event management and bar operations will be advantageous, with a strong track record of successful events and effective bar management.

Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build relationships with clients, staff, and vendors.

Detail-oriented and organized, with the capability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously, as well as providing ROI on events.

In-depth knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and legal regulations related to events and bar management.

RSA licence and Security Clearance is a prerequisite for this position.

The role is currently part-time of 3O hours per week @ $37.77ph(Includes 12% Superannuation), and as we increase more events, this role can expand from to a full-time role, if that suits you.
