About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Therapeutic Practice Coordinator to join our team in our Ipswich office in the South West Region. You will work directly within our regional Operations alongside leadership and front-line teams to support and navigate our service in providing professional therapeutic care to our young people we support. The Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will play a key role in influencing case planning to ensure care decisions are made in the best interests of the young person and preferred models of care are consistently applied within the service and practice. Above all, this role involves upholding confidential information in trust and confidence, working within Safe Places Vision, Mission, Values and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities include:

  • Behaviour Support planning. Contribute to the development and review of Positive Behaviour Support Plans for young people in collaboration with the team, the young person and relevant external stakeholders within the area of responsibility.
  • Remaining current with best practice in trauma informed care, legislative knowledge and licensing process when advising on therapeutic strategies and behaviour support planning.
  • Be an advocate and guide for meeting the therapeutic needs of young people through engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) and implementation of the CARE Framework.
  • Will be able to offer and deliver a variety of TCI training packages which can be tailored to the needs of the area.
  • Provide post-crisis support and support front-line team members and operational leaders to provide post crisis responses and support following critical incidents, including critical incident analysis.
  • Facilitate case review functions to provide recommendations and expertise in care planning through Case Clinics, and associated documentation including PBSP’s in a way that drives quality outcomes and therapeutic care for our young people.
  • Provide a voice to the young people in our care through annual survey’s, team meetings and site visits.
  • Consult, as required, on intakes and referrals, including risk assessments and supporting the team to prepare the property and planning after a referral has been confirmed.
About You

Our Therapeutic Practice Coordinator will bring a genuine passion to make a difference in the lives of young people and our communities, holding certain attributes and demonstrated knowledge and experience. The right candidate will also be people focused and have excellent communication skills to deliver trusted advice to our key stakeholders and our wider team members.

Experience/Personal attributes we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related discipline or Diploma of Community Services (or related discipline) and minimum 2 years relevant experience.
  • Be values based, known for your professionalism, integrity, and trusted advice.
  • People focused, valuing the individual in all aspects of therapeutic care.
  • Solution focused, collaborative, clearly articulating and inspiring growth in others.
  • Well-developed communication skills, including stakeholder presentation, consultation, and negotiation.

You will be based in Ipswich and travel to Toowoomba as required.
