Care 24-7 is seeking a committed and capable Business Manager to join the Buderim Private Emergency Centre, located within Buderim Private Hospital. As part of the UnitingCare Health network, this site plays a vital role in supporting the Sunshine Coast community through specialist-led, fast-response emergency care.

The Buderim Private Emergency Centre is a key part of our commitment to raising the standard of emergency care on the Sunshine Coast.

About the Role:
This is a hands-on operational leadership role. As Business Manager, you’ll work closely with both Care 24-7's Director of Clinical Operations and the Emergency Centre's Medical Director to ensure the emergency centre runs efficiently, meets regulatory standards, and delivers a positive experience to every patient and visitor.
You will manage a vital team across reception, billing, HR coordination, compliance and systems. With strong attention to service quality, you’ll be both strategic and operational — comfortable stepping in wherever needed to keep things moving and supporting the broader team to deliver seamless patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supporting the front desk/reception team with a strong service-first approach
  • Overseeing patient billing, Medicare compliance and financial administration
  • Coordinate and maintain reception staff rosters and support coordination of doctor rosters
  • Handling recruitment, onboarding and training of new staff
  • Handling patient billing, invoicing, debtors and Medicare compliance
  • Contributing to strategic planning, audits and ongoing business improvement
  • Supporting the coordination of IT, inventory, building and facility needs
  • Ensuring WH&S, risk, privacy and legislative compliance

About You:
You thrive in a role where you’re across the detail and involved in every part of the operation. You're solutions-focused, adaptable, and bring a calm, practical approach to leadership. You will bring:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing business or practice operations
  • Knowledge of HR, rostering, billing and reception services
  • A working understanding of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS)
  • High-level Excel skills and experience with clinical software (e.g. Medtech, Zedmed)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A solutions-focused mindset and the ability to resolve complaints effectively
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to step into gaps when needed
  • A current Police Check and unrestricted driver’s licence

Desirable: A Certificate in Business or Practice Management, and First Aid certification.
