About the role:
The Finance Officer / Graduate Accountant will play an integral role in ensuring the objectives of the Finance Department are met, by providing accounting and finance services to East Arnhem Regional Council (EARC).
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
Strong computing skills in Microsoft office products, especially Excel.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of all applicable finance and business processes.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to conduct multiple processes and tasks concurrently over varying timeframes.
Proven experience in finance processing, typically 2 years or more.
Excellent customer service skills and effective written communication.
Self-motivated to produce on-time quality work, ensuring attention to detail and expectations are achieved.
Ability to work both within a team and independently to reach successful outcomes and deliver high standards of work.
It would be desirable if you also possessed:
Previous experience using financial / accounting software.
Demonstrated high level of cross-cultural awareness to ensure effective participation in a multi-cultural workplace.
Key Performance Areas:
Zero creditor accounts placed on stop credit.
99% accuracy in Business as Usual (BAU), Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing, including supplier payments.
EOM targets for financial accounting (including bank, AR, AP, Rates) achieved 99% each month.
All employment with the EARC is subject to a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance. Criminal history will not exclude an applicant unless it is relevant to the inherent requirements to their position.

What you'll get in return:
Full Time Permanent employment.
Level 4 - Salary $73,729 - $80,566 (excluding super and locality allowance) with annual wage increase opportunities built into our EBA.
You will also benefit from 6 weeks of Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading.
