The Organisation:
A leading government department responsible for providing a wide range of services to customers across Queensland is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant for a Senior Finance Advisor role. Although this role is currently 12 months, there is a strong possibility of extension.

The Position:
This engaging role will encapsulate elements of both financial and management accounting. Ultimately you will be responsible for:

• Assist with the development and implementation of a large-scale state finance project and provide support about the project.
• Assist with the reviewing, development and implementation of business processes and reports relating to the financial administration of passenger transport service contracts and related business functions
• Analyse complex financial matters including undertaking detailed financial modelling to ensure value for money investment in public transport
• Provide professional financial and commercial advice and develop appropriate financial management responses to key financial issues.
• Effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders/customers in the provision of financial services
• Communicate with influence to convey complex financial and business ideas to diverse audiences to achieve both organisation and project related objectives
• Due to this position having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the position

Your Profile:
To be considered, it is imperative that you can demonstrate excellent experience in managing stakeholder relationships. To thrive, you should enjoy enhancing existing processes and systems and finding ways to improve and add value to the reporting processes. Ideally you will have been working in a commercial, government or non-profit area. It is imperative you can take ownership of your role. You will need to be extremely effective at communicating with and working with your team. Strong ERP and excel skills are critical. Exposure to SAP will be helpful.
