We’re currently seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Advisor, People and Culture (AO6) to join a well-respected State Government department on a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your HR expertise across advisory services, policy development, and project work.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Manager, People and Culture, you’ll be responsible for:
- Delivering high-quality advice and support across all areas of HR including case management, recruitment, performance, ER/IR, and workforce planning.
- Leading and contributing to key HR projects and the ongoing development and review of policies and procedures.
- Supporting and coaching managers on best practice people management strategies.
- Building strong relationships across the organisation and with external vendors.
- Providing subject matter expertise to projects and initiatives, contributing to the ongoing improvement of HR processes.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking an HR professional who brings:
- 4–6 years of generalist HR experience at a senior level, ideally within State or Local Government.
- Strong experience in case management, employee relations, and HR policy development.
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to influence and coach stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of HR legislation, frameworks, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience using Aurion or similar HRIS systems will be highly regarded.
- Accreditation as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (or willingness to obtain) is required.
