Senior Advisor (Finance)

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced finance professional to join a QLD Government team supporting public transport finance across the region. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering high-quality financial information and advice, contributing to a range of projects that support the effective management of public transport services.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

Provide accurate and timely financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making.

Assist with the development and implementation of finance-related projects, offering subject matter expertise throughout the process.

Review and enhance business processes and reporting related to the financial administration of passenger transport service contracts.

Undertake detailed financial modelling and analysis to ensure value for money in public transport investments.

Communicate complex financial concepts clearly to a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

Strong experience in contract finance, including complex payment processes and financial modelling.

Advanced financial management skills, including month-end processing, budgeting, and financial ratio analysis.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.

Strong organisational skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.

Proficiency in finance systems such as SAP, Excel, Power Query, and SharePoint.
