The Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club Inc (GRYC) is Australia’s oldest continuously operating yacht club and is located on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, about an hour’s drive from Adelaide in South Australia. The GRYC is an active club with over 450 members, a bar, dining/training room, comprehensive racing, including Sailability and SheSails programs, social activities, is an accredited Discover Sailing Centre, has a 106-berth marina and conducts the largest freshwater yacht race in Australia. The Club Manager role is an important first line of contact with our club members, visitors, and sail training participants in the busy operation of the Club. The Club Manager is responsible for maintaining the clubroom, grounds and facilities to a high standard while delivering exceptional customer service with a high attention to detail.

Qualifications & experience

Previous experience in a diverse and autonomous operational management position.

High level customer service skills, evidenced by a friendly and welcoming demeanour and willingness to be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of the Club.

Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of programs and Point of Sale systems.

Knowledge of the regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to a small sports and recreation not-for-profit organisation

Previous experience planning and leading events.

Excellent time management skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise, use sound judgement and initiative, identify issues, and develop and implement solutions.

Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification, South Australian driver’s licence, a current Senior First Aid Certificate, and hold or be prepared to obtain a SA Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.

You will be available to work an average 37.5 hours per week, including bar work and weekend work as required. This position is being offered on an initial 6-month probationary period.
