THE ROLE
The Port Lincoln Leisure Centre is a key community hub servicing the health and fitness needs of more than 950 members and 420 swim school enrolments with direct visitation more than 140,000 annually. The facility includes a 24/7 health club, group fitness, indoor pools, spa, sauna, café, and a multi-purpose 3 court sports stadium. The Centre comprises a staff team of 45 who are passionate in supporting members to be healthier, happier and more connected to their community.
The role of the Centre Manager is pivotal to the success of YMCA South Australia (“the Y”) and the achievement of the Y’s mission and vision. They will lead the YMCA’s activities and development in area of aquatics and recreation while achieving key result areas of compliance, safety, financial and community engagement.
Strong local leadership, innovation will ensure the YMCA is providing the desired impact within local communities to deliver a meaningful and caring customer experience. The Centre Manager will be highly visible working closely with the centre’s leadership team, user groups and key sports forming strong relationships for improved access and health outcomes. A key responsibility will be to work in partnership with key stakeholders to provide a holistic wellbeing and social connection opportunities that meet the needs of the broader community.
The Centre Manager will be an efficient, well organised and strong leader, demonstrating commitment to staff development and training. Emphasis on people leadership, culture building and motivation in a dynamic, challenging environment will require excellent communication and presentation skills.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
Relevant Tertiary Qualification in recreation or equivalent
National Police Check (issued in the last 6 months)
DHS Working With Children Check
International Criminal History Record Check (if worked overseas in the last 5 years)
RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care
SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard or equivalent
HLTAID009 Perform CPR or equivalent
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or equivalent
SISSS00131 Aquatic Technical Operator
