POSITION PURPOSE
The Communications & Projects Officer will support the delivery of Her Heart’s digital communications and research-based projects by coordinating workflows, managing project documentation, and providing technical and administrative support across key platforms. This role plays a vital part in improving Her Heart’s communication reach and project outcomes, enabling the team to deliver high-quality digital initiatives, research outputs, and events. The appointee will report to the General Manager and work closely with the wider team. The position will also support the implementation of new systems and technologies (including AI tools and databases), contribute to research coordination, and liaise with external contractors for specific tasks. The role will also involve co-ordinating the Her Heart’s social media activity, including scheduling content, basic design, and performance monitoring. This role is ideal for someone with strong coordination and digital communication skills, who enjoys variety and working in a mission-driven environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the coordination of communications and research-related projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and reporting requirements are met
Through integration of AI - provide technical assistance in managing Her Heart’s digital tools and platforms.
Co-ordinate Her Heart’s social media activity, content creation (e.g. Canva), including scheduling and monitoring performance metrics
Assist in the administration of the Her Heart Portal, Hub, and Survey platforms, ensuring accuracy and user accessibility
Maintain project documentation, including planning tools, delivery trackers, reports, and data logs
Monitor analytics from Her Heart’s research projects and digital tools and support team members with data extraction and interpretation
Liaise with external contractors and service providers for project-specific needs (e.g. data input, web fixes, platform testing)
Contribute to the testing and roll-out of new tech-based features or systems, including automation and system improvements
Coordinate smaller event-related logistics or research dissemination activities (e.g. resource formatting, document updates, printing, etc.)
Ensure all digital operations align with Her Heart’s values, accessibility, and privacy standards
RELATIONSHIPS & COLLABORATION
Report to the General Manager
Work collaboratively with the Digital Marketing Officer and Communications & Marketing Coordinator to ensure project integration
Liaise with the CEO and Advisors for specific strategic project tasks
Ensure Her Hearts values and mission is upheld in all communications and fundraising activities
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIAL
▪ - Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, IT, business, communications, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in a coordination role, with exposure to digital tools and platforms
- A deep understanding of AI and confidence working with AI tools, It is essential that there is a willingness to learn and adapt quickly to emerging technologies
-Demonstrated experience supporting or managing projects (including tracking deliverables, timelines, or reporting)
- High level of organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Experience creating and scheduling content for social media platforms (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn), with an understanding of audience engagement and performance metrics.
- Familiarity with basic website editing, digital automation tools, or CRM platform
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with cloud-based project tools (e.g. Trello)
- Knowledge of video editing tools for creating short digital content.
- Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a small, fast-paced not-for-profit team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
This is a fixed-salary position of $60,000 (including superannuation), and salary negotiation is not available. Applicants are encouraged to consider the scope and remuneration before applying.
