Position: Senior Privacy Advisor (Health Manager Level 4)

Employment Type: Full Time - Exempt up to December 2025 (with possibility of extension)

About the Opportunity

As Senior Privacy Advisor of our Privacy Team at eHealth NSW, you will help make a real difference in healthcare by ensuring comprehensive compliance with privacy obligations thereby fostering community trust that the ICT services involved in their healthcare are privacy preserving.

You will be part of a skilled team with responsibility for promoting a culture of privacy within eHealth NSW, leading data breach incident management, and undertaking privacy impact assessment prior to the implementation of new ICT solutions for healthcare.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide expert and authoritative advice and recommendations on privacy matters in governance committees, meetings and other forums.
  • Develop the organisation’s privacy regulatory compliance framework by undertaking proactive audits; privacy impact assessments, major investigations and the management and monitoring of public reporting systems to assess compliance levels and proactively identify and mitigate risks, along with managing and reporting on incidents surrounding privacy data breaches. Drive a culture of professional development and continual improvement and ensure high quality work is delivered and timeframes for responding to correspondence, briefs and requests for assistance are met.
  • Assist with the design and delivery of education and training programs and guidance material for internal stakeholders and clients to build capacity and facilitate the provision of quality services and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Manage complex, contentious, or sensitive matters and administrative activities and provide advice and guidance to identify risks and mitigation strategies to address short and longer term implications for eHealth NSW.
  • Support the development of key governance, process and procedure documentation to underpin the discharge of legislative and policy responsibilities of eHealth NSW.
  • Contribute to the design and development of strategies, plans and programs and fit for purpose reporting to ensure optimal delivery of operational priorities and efficient effective provision of advice and guidance.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds appropriate qualifications and/or equivalent experience in law, privacy or information access experience. Preferably, experience in managing correspondence and providing advice on Privacy matters, along with developing compliance reporting.
  • Has demonstrated experience in, and superior knowledge of applying relevant privacy legislation to relevant matters. Preferably experience in socialising key policies with stakeholders, delivering workshops or focus groups.
  • Superior organisational skills and prior experience in a highly demanding environment including leading others on cases and workloads.
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from multiple sources, prepare and present analysis and reports, manage challenges creatively and achieve business focused solutions.
