About the role

As an Accountant in the Finance team, you’ll play a key role in supporting the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycles. With a focus on ensuring compliance, accuracy and operational efficiency, you’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including HR, Internal Audit, DoF, ATO and ANAO. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to shape best practice processes in a critical regulatory environment.

What you will do

Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and financial analysis

Deliver statutory and management financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

Manage reporting areas such as cash, fixed assets, receivables, and employee provisions

Oversee payment uploads and cash management activities

Investigate and resolve accounting anomalies

Ensure compliance with financial legislation and reporting standards including FBT and GST

Liaise with ANAO on external audits and assist with stocktake procedures

Support continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and controls

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, frameworks, and policies

What you will bring

Tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in accounting plus CPA/CA certification

Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and statutory reporting requirements

Proven experience managing general ledgers and financial controls

Proficiency with Oracle, TM1 and advanced Excel

A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement

Confident communication and stakeholder engagement skills
