The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the team to support and facilitate a range of key functions. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the development and implementation of community engagement strategies and approaches in line with Council’s Community Engagement Strategy, and assist to meet and deliver on the Community Strategic Plan
- Develop engagement materials and collateral and coordinate the printing and distribution of these materials
- Assist teams to map stakeholders for community engagement projects and determine appropriate methods to notify and engage each stakeholder group
- Carry out administrative tasks including coordinating letterbox drops, community email notifications and updates
- Facilitate face-to-face and online consultation engagement activities in support of Council’s projects and programs and collating community feedback for reporting
- Liaison with construction contractors to assist smooth delivery of major works programs
- Management of enquiries and complaints via project email inboxes
- Support the preparation and delivery of engagement events such as pop-up stalls to gather community sentiment on key issues and project satisfaction
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in communications or a related field.
- Minimum three years' experience in community engagement/multi-disciplinary communications teams dealing with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of effective communication and community engagement strategies and events.
- Highly developed communication skills with a proven capacity to influence diverse stakeholders and facilitate meaningful engagement.
