Communications & Social Media Officer - 10 Month Contract

We’re looking for a talented and driven Communications and Social Media Officer to join our team and help elevate our voice across digital platforms.
About Us
Northwest Community Ministries is an established and growing Not-For-Profit, community focused business providing high quality Outside of School Hours Care in the Northwest of Sydney.
About the Role
As our Communications and Social Media Officer, you will play a key role in promoting our brand, engaging our audience, and driving community awareness through compelling content and consistent messaging. You’ll manage our social media presence, support internal and external communications, and collaborate with various teams to bring our stories to life.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, create, and publish engaging content across social media platforms
Monitor social media channels and website, respond to comments and messages, and build online community engagement
Write, edit, and proofread communications including newsletters, blog posts, website content, parent email correspondence and media releases
Assist with the development and implementation of communication strategies and campaigns
Track analytics and performance metrics to measure and report on engagement and reach
Maintain brand voice and visual consistency across all communications
Support event promotion and media liaison as needed
Prepare and implement branded forms and templates
About You:
You have a Tertiary qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
Experience managing social media accounts and creating digital content
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting
You have high attention to detail and a flexible approach
You have exceptional organisation, event management skills and the ability to work to a deadline
A creative mindset with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences
Familiarity with design tools (e.g. indesign, Adobe Suite)
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple tasks
Hold a current driver’s license and reliable car
Experience in childcare or a Not-For-Profit organisation is desirable
Experience and Proficiency in:
InDesign (Intermediate)
Photoshop (Basic/Intermediate)
SurveyMonkey, MailChimp, Squarespace
MS Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
