Position: 1:1 Community Support Worker - IMMEDIATE START
Location: North-West Tasmania (Between Wynyard and Latrobe)
Work Type: Flexible Shift Work ranging between 2-6hr shifts
About the Role:
In this person-centered role, you will provide individualised, 1:1 support to people living with disabilities—helping them build independence, achieve personal goals, and participate fully in their communities. You’ll work directly with participants in their homes and in the community.
Please Note:
This role is best suited to people who are looking for flexible working arrangements including short day shifts with a minimum of 2hrs, community and domestic activities.
This role requires flexible shift availability and a commitment to meeting both the physical and emotional demands of the work.
Applicants must be prepared to travel between Wynyard and Latrobe.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one support with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility and Domestic assistance, and medication management
Support participants in engaging with community activities, appointments, and social inclusion
Build trusting, respectful relationships through empathy and active listening
Promote choice, independence, and dignity in every aspect of support
Work both independently and as part of a broader support team
Respond calmly and effectively to behaviours of concern
Essential Requirements:
Willingness and availability to work varied shifts, including weekends, shifts ranging between 2hrs - 6hrs
Valid Working with Vulnerable People Card & NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid & CPR certification
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Modules
Driver’s licence and reliable transport
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Medication Administration Endorsement
Manual Handling experience or training
Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care (or equivalent)
Previous experience in community-based disability support
