About the role

As an Assistant Accountant at HBT Accounting Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting and finance operations of our dynamic firm. This full-time position is based in our Bundoora, Victoria office, providing you with the opportunity to work in a collaborative and professional environment.

What you'll be doing

Assisting with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

Performing detailed account reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records

Conducting data analysis and generating financial reports to support decision-making

Providing administrative support to the accounting team as needed

Collaborating with colleagues to ensure the timely and accurate completion of accounting tasks

Assisting in the preparation of Tax Returns and Activity Statements

Bookkeeping & Payroll Functions

Liasing with the ATO

What we're looking for

Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related field

Experience preferred but not essential, in an assistant accountant or similar role, preferably within a professional services or accounting firm

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with financial data

Proficiency in using accounting software, such as MYOB or Xero would be an advantage

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software,

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team

A keen interest in the accounting and finance industry, with a desire to continuously learn and develop your skills
