About us:
Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service is vibrant service with 63 staff located 175km west from Rockhampton Hospital. It provides a range of health services to the community, including emergency, inpatients and outpatients, and residential aged care.
An improved range of visiting specialist and allied health services are offered through collaboration with private providers including paediatrics, ear nose and throat, cardiology, respiratory (adult and children), physician, ophthalmology, optometry, physiotherapy, nutrition and dietetics, podiatry and dental.
About the role:
The Medical Officer Private Practice will be responsible for working with the Medical Superintendent Private Practice to provide safe, efficient quality medical services to inpatients and outpatients of the Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service including the provision of 24 hour emergency department coverage.
This position can undertake Private Practice at a surgery run by the MSPP in both Woorabinda and Duringa. An opportunity exists to maintain selected skills at the Woorabinda Multipurpose Health Service and it is intended the Medical Officer Private Practice will maximise their professional development as part of this appointment.
About you:
- Enrolment/acceptance of a GP training program that will facilitate a provider number with access to Medicare benefits for the private practice.
- MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia, Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A post graduate qualification (e.g. FRACGP or FACRRM) while not mandatory would be highly regarded.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $262,071 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $182,106 - $193,468 p.a. (MOR1-1 – MOR1-3)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
