About us:
Biloela Hospital is a 25-bed hospital that caters for inpatients and outpatients including emergency and outpatient services, obstetrics and midwifery, general medical and surgical services. Support services to the hospital include community services, radiology, pharmacy, immunisation, child health, drug and alcohol mental health services, occupational therapy, social work, pathology, physiotherapy, and oral health.
Biloela Hospital provides services to the people of Biloela and the surrounding districts of Moura, Theodore, Jambin, Goovigen, Baralaba and east to Calliope. The physical hospital is about to undergo an infrastructure rebuild including its operating theatre to meet standards to recommence its birthing service for Banana.
About the role:
The Senior Medical Officer (SMO) provides high quality primary and secondary medical services with a commitment to patient safety and continuous service improvement and assists in the professional development and support of medical students and clinicians as required.
The provision of clinical services for CQ Health is provided as one service, multiple sites. In order to meet service needs the Senior Medical Officer may be required to provide clinical services at any facility within the CQHHS, in line with the clinical services capability of that facility.
The SMO has the opportunity to rotate and work across Biloela Hospital and Gladstone Hospital to maintain procedural skills.
About you:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or evidence of acceptance as a Trainee of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
- Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) program with the appropriate bodies.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. The incumbent is required to maintain registration with the Medical Board of Australia at all times.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $458,844 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $210,332 - $251,527 p.a. (L18-L25)
- A salary rate between $182,106 - $210,332 p.a. (L13-L18)
- A salary rate between $182,106 - $187,801 p.a. (L13-L14)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
