About the role
We are seeking experienced Rail Protection Officers to join our team at JWB Constructions with head office based in Meadowbrook, Queensland. As a Rail Protection Officer, you will be responsible for the safety of workers and the public around railway tracks and infrastructure.

JWB are putting together teams to work on various rail projects throughout Queensland and beyond. We are seeking experienced rail workers that are eager to work both locally and remote with the leaders in the rail industry in Australia.

What you'll be doing

Support a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with JWB Standards and other Safety Legislation is maintained

Plan and implement track authority for work groups accessing the corridor

Physical implementation of infield safety equipment ensuring compliance with processes and procedures

Create and develop safe working protection plans, detailed work plans and relevant documentation

Provide confident, supportive direction to staff at worksites on or near the track

Deliver effective safety briefings on worksites with multiple stakeholders

Be a source of information and knowledge to assist work groups with important updates

What you need

RIW, WET and SARC credentials (RIW as a minimum)

Hold current QR Safeworking qualifications (AP, PO)

Proven experience as a Rail Protection or in a similar railway role

Maintain a strong commitment to rail safety and compliance

Category 1 Medical

OHS Construction Card

Willingness to work as part of a team and adapt to changing work environments

Ability to pass a Cat 1 Medical / Drug & Alcohol screening

Rates vary depending on role however are well and truly above market, depending on role. 10-12hr days which includes overtime with night shift options, weekend work and overtime.

MUST HAVE RIW ACCREDITATION. Without it you can’t work on these projects, so please do not apply if not.
