The Service aims to reduce the harm from alcohol and other drug use as well as improve the health and wellbeing of our clients, their families, and the community. Our main offices are located in Rockhampton and Gladstone with outreach services from Rockhampton located in other areas including Yeppoon, Emerald, Blackwater and Biloela.

About the role:

The Harm Reduction Officer provides support to the development and implementation of strategic and local prevention and promotion initiatives for the AODS service. The position coordinates and monitors the provision of the Primary Needle Syringe Program (NSP) for Rockhampton. The position also supports enhancement of the NSP and Needle Dispensing Machine network across the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS) for improved accessibility of injecting equipment, information and services.

About you:

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver planned prevention and promotion programs and projects.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and acquire a high level of specialised alcohol and other drugs knowledge.
• Demonstrated high level of effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with AOD clients, network effectively and work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to participate in quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of AODS.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $114,177 is comprised of:

• An hourly rate between $45.81 - $50.46 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
