About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day financial operations of the College, with a focus on student billing, payment processing, and general accounts management.

Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and receivable transactions

Manage school fee billing, concessions and debtor accounts

Liaise with suppliers, reconcile payments and maintain purchase orders

Conduct daily bank reconciliations and maintain the College asset register

Support financial and statutory reporting

Assist with budget monitoring and administrative overflow

Contribute to audit preparation and maintain accurate financial records

Provide professional and confidential service to staff and families in all finance-related interactions

About You

Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar accounting or finance role (education sector experience a plus)

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite

Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Professional communication skills with a service-oriented approach

Reliable, trustworthy, and adaptable in a dynamic school environment

Working with Children (Blue Card) or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement
