About the Role

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to step into a contract role with immediate impact. Supporting the finance team during a peak period, you'll be involved in a mix of transactional accounting, reconciliations, and reporting tasks. You'll need to be confident working independently and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with month-end processes and journal entries
• Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Accounts payable and receivable support
• Assisting with BAS preparation and reporting tasks
• Supporting the Finance Manager with ad hoc accounting duties
• Data integrity checks and general ledger maintenance

About you

You are a hands-on, detail-focused accounting professional who thrives in a structured environment and can quickly pick up new systems and processes. You're reliable, adaptable, and comfortable stepping into a contract with confidence and professionalism.

You'll bring:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance
• 2-4 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems (e.g. MYOB, SAP, Xero)
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to hit the ground running
• A proactive attitude and strong team ethic
