Job Overview:

Waterside Bistro is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting the Food and Beverage Manager in daily operations, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests, and maintaining high standards of service and quality. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to excellence.

As we are located in Ku-ring-gai National Park, you must have your own transportation – there is no public transport available

Normal business hours 8am to 4pm with occasional evening events

Key Responsibilities:

Support Daily Operations: Assist the Food and Beverage Manager in overseeing all aspects of bistro operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and inventory management.

Staff Supervision: Lead and motivate the bistro team, providing training and development opportunities to ensure high performance and adherence to service standards.

Customer Service: Ensure guests receive outstanding service from the moment they arrive until they leave. Address any customer concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.

Quality Control: Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and consistency. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure menu items meet our standards.

Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing special events and promotions within the bistro, such as themed nights, wine tastings, and community events.

Financial Management: Assist in managing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability

Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to, maintaining a clean and safe environment for both staff and guests.

Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with local suppliers and community members to enhance the bistro's reputation and support local business.
