Join a dynamic team and play a key role in planning and delivering essential infrastructure across one of Victoria's fastest-growing municipalities.
Your new role
As a key member of the Infrastructure Planning team, you'll play a pivotal role in assessing and approving engineering drawings for staged subdivision developments. You'll work closely with developers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure that road, drainage, and service infrastructure meets high standards and aligns with strategic planning objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Review and approve engineering plans for roads, drainage, and associated infrastructure in new subdivisions.
- Provide expert input on planning applications, structure plans, and development proposals.
- Liaise with service authorities and contribute to the implementation of Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) principles.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Subdivision Act and local planning schemes.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality urban development outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you'll be a proactive and detail-oriented Civil Engineer with a passion for urban development and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. You'll bring a degree in Civil Engineering, experience in assessing subdivision engineering plans, and a solid understanding of road and drainage design, construction techniques, and relevant legislation. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, along with the ability to manage time effectively and perform under pressure, are essential.
What you'll get in return
Join a forward-thinking council dedicated to sustainable and well-planned growth, where you'll be part of a supportive and collaborative team environment. Enjoy the benefits of flexible working arrangements and a strong emphasis on work-life balance, all while contributing to meaningful projects that help shape the future of the community. This is an initial 6-month contract position with the view to extend and paying between $45 - $50 p/h + super.
