The Role
The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
Duties of an APS 4 Project Support within ASA include the following:
- Assist with project support tasks including the administration and coordination of project documentation.
- Accountable to contribute to the ongoing application of project planning and scheduling.
- Understand the reasons for decisions relating to project support and the broader impacts and implications of activities.
- Build and sustain productive working relations both internally and externally
- Apply knowledge and experience of legislation, policies, strategies and team plans to project support work.
- Take the initiative to progress work to meet business objectives.

Within the Project Control function an APS 4 Project Support Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex project work within an integrated workforce.
They are accountable to have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and ASA’s mission and policy requirements.
