An exciting opportunity exists with Ngaanyatjarra Council Group as an Injury Management and Wellbeing Advisor to join our OHS team based in Perth CBD; this is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person with a strong interest in remote communities to make a real difference to the lives of Aboriginal people.
Purpose of the role
To provide expert support and guidance on best practice prevention, early intervention and management of workplace injuries.

Key Accountabilities:
Injury Management
Maintaining an outcome focused injury management approach, to effectively manage workers compensation matters.
Manage and assess workers compensation claims in accordance with legislative requirements and best practice injury management strategies.
Work closely with injured employees to progress positive return to work outcomes or claim resolution.
Maintain employer systems to ensure data and documentation are current at all times.
Develop and monitor Return to Work plans.
Provide injury management technical advice as required.
Liaise with treating medical practitioners regarding worker duties and capabilities.
Ensure timely, educated and informed medical claims management decisions are made.
Review pre-employment medicals.
Create and maintain injury management reporting.
Stay up to date with industry trends and legislative changes.
Wellbeing
Provide advice and information to support employees, managers and the broader safety and people teams on health and wellbeing matters.
Develop and implement preventative health and wellbeing measures, with a strong focus on mental health and psychosocial wellbeing factors.
Manage the relationship with the EAP, ensuring the program is accessible and effective.
Responsibilities:
Ensure ongoing compliance with workers compensation requirements
Take a commercial and practical approach to claims management
Maintain appropriate records and create reporting to provide insight into performance of injury management portfolio
Implement measurable improvements to employee wellbeing
Essential
Tertiary qualifications in a health or allied health field (psychology / mental health focus preferred).
Mental health first aid (preferred)
Experience using SOLV (preferred)
A broad range of experience in injury management with a focus on mental health and remote workers.
Demonstrated experience in injury management, particularly complex and high-risk claims.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative style
