The Opportunity: As the Engagement Facilitator, you will support the development of organisation-wide engagement strategies, build stakeholder relationships, and drive innovative practices to enhance community involvement in decision-making.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate the design and delivery of organisation-wide engagement using IAP2 or similar frameworks to support effective internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Advise and coach staff across the organisation on best-practice community and stakeholder engagement approaches.
- Work closely with the Communications, Engagement and Advocacy team to develop and implement coordinated engagement and communication plans.
- Manage and deliver community engagement initiatives and events, including high-level activities that may occur outside standard business hours.
- Research, design and apply innovative engagement techniques, evaluate effectiveness, and contribute to the development and improvement of tools such as Council’s “Your Say” platform.
Based in Bairnsdale, this is a full-time, ongoing position.
What we’re looking for
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement with a variety of stakeholders, using a broad range of methods.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge and application of IAP2 or similar engagement frameworks, particularly in a local government context.
- Ability to coach and support others to adopt new engagement processes and practices.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in community engagement, social sciences or public policy.
If successful, you will need to undertake a police check, have a working with children check and you must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
