About this opportunity:
Under general direction, develop and maintain relevant Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) to support Council construction and operational projects.
Carry out investigations, ensure compliance with standards, resolve complaints and make recommendations regarding issues associated with Council's civil infrastructure and road reserves traffic management operations where they are subject to works by external statutory bodies and authorised installers, as well as internal Council Departments, and for works undertaken under Minor Works Applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage Traffic Management Plans (TMP) and Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) for Council projects.
- Assess TMP/TGS related to internal and external applications and issue necessary documentation.
- Investigate and resolve traffic management issues raised by residents.
- Conduct audit inspections to ensure compliance with traffic management standards.
- Negotiate and ensure rectification of unsatisfactory works to maximize asset lifecycle.
- Certify compliance with TMP/TGS documentation.
- Support program staff in generating documentation and resolving infrastructure issues.
- Liaise with residents and external bodies such as Department of Natural Resources, Mines & Water, Telstra, Ergon Energy, Queensland Rail and Main Roads Department to resolve Infrastructure Services issues.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction.
- Formal qualifications in Traffic Management Design (Main Roads).
- General Construction Induction Training.
- Practical experience in the Investigation and resolution of issues raised by residents regarding traffic management operations on roads and drainage asset classes.
- Thorough knowledge of civil engineering design, construction standards and methods.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards requirements and AustRoads 'Guide to Traffic Engineering Practice' publication series.
