About Us
The Livingstone Shire sits nestled along the beautiful Capricorn Coast and covers approximately 11,776 square kilometres, with a population of almost 41,000 residents. Livingstone Shire Council was created in 2013 and employs approximately 400 people.
Livingstone and the Capricorn Coast is a relaxed coastal environment in which connecting with family, friends and the community is a high priority. The area has an abundance of natural features including countless beaches with sheltered swimming, picturesque national parks, pristine rainforests and idyllic offshore islands, making it an ideal place to live. Our beaches, bushes and tropical rainforests are second to none and have been specifically preserved, designed and transformed to show the unique, untouched charm of Livingstone.

The Role:
We’re not just looking for a project officer – we’re looking for someone who sees the potential in people, teams, and workplaces. Someone who gets excited about bringing big ideas to life through practical, well-planned action.
As our new Organisational Development Project Officer, you’ll be part of a small but passionate team that’s helping to build a high-performing, engaged, and future-ready workforce. From rolling out learning programs and engagement initiatives, to refining leadership frameworks, engaging with stakeholders, and supporting culture change, you’ll play a key role in delivering projects that make a genuine difference to how people experience work at Council.
You will also:
Research and support the development of practical tools, guides, and training materials.
Contribute to shaping frameworks that build capability and culture.
Help develop and embed OD programs that connect to Council’s values and strategic direction.
This is a 12-month opportunity for someone who thrives in a people-centred, purpose-driven environment. You don’t need to have all the answers – but you do need curiosity, great coordination skills, and the confidence to get stuck in and get things done.
If you are looking for a change, and for a position that will challenge you but also provide fulfillment and job satisfaction, consider applying today!
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience in organisational development, learning and development, and/or HR (ideally in a project or coordination role).
Great communication and writing skills – you can craft a clear email one minute, then draft a project update or slide deck the next.
A collaborative working style – you listen, ask great questions, and work well with people at all levels.
The ability to stay organised, meet deadlines, and juggle a few moving parts at once.
A background in organisational development, organisational psychology, business, HR or a related field, or equivalent experience that makes you a great fit.
Possess and maintain a current motor vehicle drivers licence.
Benefits:
We believe that when you feel supported, you do your best work. Here’s what you can look forward to:
Annual Salary –$86,958 per annum (QLGIA (Stream A) Level 4 including Locality Allowance) — plus the satisfaction of knowing your work makes a real difference to your team, across Council and for the community!
Fortnightly RDOs—because balance matters.
12% superannuation—we’re invested in your future.
Salary packaging options—to help you make the most of your earnings.
A values-driven culture where safety, innovation, and continuous improvement are more than just words—they’re how we work, every day.
