We are seeking an organised, professional, and proactive Medical Administrator to join the support team for a highly respected Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Brisbane. This is a dynamic role that offers a mix of onsite work at clinic locations on Brisbane’s Southside and Northside, as well as the flexibility to work from home on non-clinic days.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of clinic days, patient interactions, and administrative processes. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, has a passion for healthcare, and thrives in a detail-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage patient bookings, referrals, and follow-ups via phone and email
Coordinate clinic schedules and liaise with hospital theatre bookings
Process billing and manage Medicare, DVA, WorkCover and private health fund claims
Prepare and maintain patient records and medical documentation
Respond to patient inquiries with compassion and professionalism
Maintain accurate data entry and digital file management
Support the surgeon with day-to-day administrative tasks as required
About You
Prior experience in medical administration or allied healthcare (orthopaedics preferred but not essential)
A polished, friendly demeanour with a flexible and efficient work style, thriving in a small team setting.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong phone etiquette and the ability to communicate effectively with both the team and doctors.
Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to adapt to varying work styles and situations.
Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Proficient with medical practice software (e.g., Genie, Gentu, or similar)
Comfortable working autonomously and handling confidential information
Flexible and adaptable to work across multiple clinic locations
A positive attitude with a commitment to patient care and service excellence
