About the Role

We are looking for a detail-driven and proactive Design Estimator to join our team. You will play a key role in preparing accurate costings, tenders, shop drawings and production, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and tenders

Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, and cost estimates using software such as LogiKal or V6

Liaise with aluminium system suppliers (e.g., Capral, Alspec, AWS, Rapid, Darley) for pricing and specifications

Ensure compliance with relevant standards:

AS 2047 (Windows and External Glazed Doors)

AS 1288 (Glass in Buildings)

AS/NZS 1170 (Structural Design Actions)

AS 4284 (Testing of Building Facades)

Assist in tender documentation, bid preparation, and handover to the project/production teams

Attend site or coordination meetings when required

Key Responsibilities Designer & Production .

Create technical drawings shop drawings of window systems.

Ensure the design complies with project specifications, building codes, and performance requirements (thermal, acoustic, structural)

Provide support during fabrication and installation phases.

Modify drawings if on-site changes occur or if discrepancies are found.

Proficient in AutoCAD, 2D & 3D.

Releasing fabrication cutting sizes for production using Logikal software or AutoCAD.

Familiarity with structural analysis tools and fabrication software (eg Logikal).

Program CNC machines using CAM software or import/export files from design software (eg Logikal or AutoCAD).

Optimize cutting lists to minimize material wastage.

Ensure correct placement of hardware holes, drainage slots, notches, and cuts.
