More about the role:

At The a2 Milk Company, we’re passionate about creating an A1-free world where dairy nourishes people and the planet. As a pioneer in dairy innovation, we uphold the highest quality standards across our product range — and we're looking for a QA Technician to join our high-performing team at Smeaton Grange.

This role will be an integral part of our Lab team and is perfect for someone with a background in microbiology or food science who thrives in fast-paced environments and is eager to ensure every product meets the strictest safety and compliance standards. Working across the Lab and the wider business you will flex your experience within the admin and laboratory function of our team.

Hours - This role will work on our afternoon shift from 12.00 pm – 8.00 pm (Monday to Friday).

Salary - This role has a salary range of $80,000 - $88,000 (inclusive of superannuation) + 5% STI

What you’ll be doing:

• Conducting microbiological and compositional testing on raw milk and finished products
• Reviewing quality test results and supporting timely product release
• Collaborating across teams to implement corrective actions and uphold quality standards
• Performing packaging integrity checks, antibiotic residue testing, and equipment calibration
• Supporting internal audits, documentation, training compliance and lab operations
• Communicating daily results with suppliers and escalating non-conformances

More About You:

We are looking for an experienced QA Technician who is ready to contribute to a healthier dairy future. We will be looking for your experience and skills in the following areas.

• Tertiary qualification in microbiology, food science, or a related discipline
• Hands-on lab experience with excellent attention to detail and process focus
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Flexible availability (between 6am–6pm Monday to Saturday, with occasional Sundays)
• Experience in dairy or FMCG environments preferred but not essential
