About the Role:
Are you an analytical problem-solver with a passion for ensuring the reliability and performance of critical process systems? Do you thrive in a hands-on environment and enjoy learning new skills? If so, Umech is seeking a dedicated Quality and Maintenance Technician to join our team.
Reporting to the Quality and Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:
Install, maintain and repairs electronic equipment and systems
Conducting routine inspections of gas detections and delivery systems
Troubleshooting and repairing instrumentation, including gas detection sensors
Calibrating analytical instruments
Documenting maintenance activities in our CMMS system
Assisting with the commissioning of new laboratory equipment
Function testing and commissioning of gas, exhaust, vacuum, and water systems for R&D facilities
Testing of gas detection systems

About You:
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
Skills and experience requirements: Relevant Trade Electronic Equipment trade qualifications, or at least 3 years relevant experience
A maintenance or analytical/scientific background
Exceptional troubleshooting skills
Instrumentation knowledge and understanding of quality testing procedures
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills
A valid Australian driver's license
Australian working rights with immediate start
And we’d be very impressed if you have:
Experience with PLC programming
Previous quality and/or maintenance experience
Experience working in laboratory spaces
