About The Role:
The Accounts Officer is responsible for delivering day-to-day finance and accounting support across a group of diverse entities. This role will assist with accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll support, data entry, and financial reporting. Working closely with the Group Accountant and finance team, the Accounts Officer will help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations across all business area while utilising discretion and integrity in handling confidential financial information.
Key responsibilities will include:
Process supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and client/funding body invoices (e.g., NDIS, property rentals)
Reconcile debtor and creditor accounts; follow up on outstanding invoices
Perform daily bank and credit card reconciliations, including petty cash and intercompany transactions
Ensure all transactions are properly coded and supported with receipts and approvals; follow up on missing documentation
Manage corporate supplier accounts; verify statements, resolve billing issues, and ensure proper cost allocation
Assist with payroll processing, timesheet and leave data entry, and respond to staff payroll queries
Maintain accurate financial records; assist with monthly reporting, journals, and general ledger entries
Support audits by maintaining organised documentation and assisting with preparation
Improve and maintain finance systems and processes across different service areas
Assist with month-end and year-end processes; ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g., NDIS, DSS)
Undertake additional finance-related tasks as required

Base salary of $65,000 - $75,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Requirements/Qualifications
Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or similar qualification.
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting support role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Employment Hero, DEXT) and Excel
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve issues independently.
Desirable: Experience working with NDIS, government funding, or NFP services.
Desirable: Knowledge of community services or property financial administration
Valid police check
Ability to obtain a blue card and NDIS clearance
Ability to obtain LSC2 clearance.
