About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Youth Worker to proactively engage, build rapport and connection, and provide time-limited complex youth work intervention to children, young people and caregivers

• Casual position.
• SCHCADS Award Level 3. $46.69 - $50.06 per hour inclusive of casual loading + super.
• Includes travel to various locations across Brisbane North and Gympie as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide time-limited intervention to high-risk children and young people in families with complex trauma.
• Work collaboratively with ISS team and other professionals and agencies to ensure the child/young person’s goals are achieved.
• Practically support and encourage school participation and relationship with educational environment.
• Follow the guidance and direction from practitioners and team leaders to ensure practical support to children and young people is achieved.

About You

• Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (youth work, community services) or studying toward a relevant tertiary qualification.
• At least two (2) years’ experience providing complex youth work to young people in a child protection context or who have experienced trauma and disruptions in attachment.
• Understanding of current child protection legislation and policy reforms.

Other Requirements

• Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
• Eligibility for a NDIS Worker Clearance Check.
• Willingness to travel to various locations as required.
