About the Position

We are looking to welcome an Identified Youth Worker to provide time-limited complex youth work intervention to children and young people.

• It is a genuine occupational requirement that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
• Casual position.
• SCHCADS Award Level 3. $46.69 - $50.06 per hour inclusive of casual loading + super.
• Working schedule includes potential hours between 7am and 7pm weekdays and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate social learning, community connectedness, good health and wellbeing for young people.
• Facilitate school participation and relationship with educational environment.
• Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure young person’s goals are achieved.

About You

• Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (youth work, community services).
• At least 2 years’ experience providing complex youth work to young people in a child protection context or who have experienced trauma and disruptions in attachment.
• Cultural awareness and an understanding of how to communicate and work effectively with families from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Other Requirements

• Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
• Willingness of a respected Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural referee to vouch for your appropriateness for this role.
