Senior Asset Analyst Engineer (Buildings)
Location: Sydney
Permanent Full-Time | 35 hours/week + 19-day month flexitime option
Up to $130,000 + superannuation (salary based on skills and experience)
We're recruiting for a Senior Asset Analyst Engineer (Buildings) on behalf of a local council in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced asset management professional who wants to deliver high-impact projects that improve public buildings and facilities - now and for generations to come.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead asset management strategies - develop, review, and implement plans, policies, and frameworks that guide the management of public buildings throughout their lifecycle
- Prepare and manage forward capital works programs - annual and multi-year plans aligned with community needs and organisational priorities
- Drive planned maintenance programs - ensuring that public buildings are safe, functional, and fit for purpose
- Manage asset data and systems - maintain accurate records, support informed decision-making, and contribute to continuous improvement of asset management systems
- Engage and manage consultants and contractors - from scoping and tendering to contract management and project delivery
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders - including operational teams, community groups, and service providers to ensure asset strategies reflect diverse needs
- Promote risk management and compliance - proactively identify risks, ensure adherence to asset management legislation, and champion best practice
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, building, landscape architecture, or a related discipline (or significant relevant experience in asset management)
- Strong experience managing complex building asset portfolios, ideally within government, infrastructure, or large-scale organisations
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects end-to-end - from strategy development through to delivery
- Excellent report writing, business case preparation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Solid understanding of asset management frameworks, planned maintenance, capital works planning, and compliance requirements
- NSW Driver's Licence
Desirable:
- Postgraduate qualifications in asset management, project management, business administration, or related fields
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993 and infrastructure management best practices
- Familiarity with Asset Management Information Systems (AMIS)
