ABOUT THE POSITION.

We are seeking a Senior Asset Engineer to join a progressive and strategic asset management team in local council. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping how critical public infrastructure - particularly buildings - is planned, maintained, and improved to meet the evolving needs of the community.

You’ll lead the implementation of long-term asset management strategies, manage corporate systems, and ensure programs align with sustainability, performance, and compliance goals.

This is a permanent full-time role, ideal for an experienced asset professional ready to drive innovation and change in a supportive and impactful environment.

DUTIES.

• Develop and implement asset management strategies and policy frameworks for building and infrastructure assets
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and community representatives to inform planning and priorities
• Oversee the use and development of corporate asset management systems
• Prepare forward capital works programs with multi-year projections
• Monitor and improve asset practices to align with sustainability, compliance and best practice standards

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Building, or a related field
• Strong experience managing infrastructure or asset-related projects
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
• Proficient in writing reports and preparing consultant briefs
• Solid knowledge of asset management frameworks, legislation and contemporary practices
