We are currently seeking an experienced Enterprise Release Manager to join a transforming financial institution's Enterprise Applications team. As a Release Delivery Manager in the applications space, you’ll be key in overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of business and technology initiatives.

You’ll be responsible for designing the release management strategy for a number of application releases, ensuring seamless deployments that align with business objectives. You will work closely with senior executives, technical teams, infrastructure specialists, and key business stakeholders to enhance release processes, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.

This role requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to navigate complex discussions, raise risks and ensuring that release strategies support operational goals and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Enhancing Release Management Practices:

• Establish structured release management processes that ensure controlled system changes and enhancements.
• Define roles and responsibilities within the release management team.
• Develop and maintain a forward release schedule for the enterprise.
• Implement risk management strategies to mitigate issues affecting release scope, timeline, or quality.

Pipeline Management & Deployment Planning:

• Develop and maintain a forward-looking release pipeline, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies.
• Coordinate release and deployment plans with programme managers and business units.
• Create detailed cutover plans, including timelines, resource allocation, dependencies, and risk management.
• Work with technical teams and subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess site isolation impacts and future business requirements.

Process Improvement & Coaching:

• Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement process improvements that enhance release management capabilities.
• Review each release for compliance with risk controls, ensuring consistency and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Provide guidance and coaching to stakeholders on release management processes and tools.
• Oversee implementation planning activities, including readiness checklists, risk assessments, and escalation management.

Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery:

• Serve as the key point of contact for release management within the organisation.
• Engage with senior business and technology stakeholders, including Product Owners, Architects, Service Providers, and Support Teams.
• Work closely with internal teams such as Enterprise Infrastructure, Product Management, and Core Banking.
• Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure smooth integration of third-party solutions.

Qualifications/Must Haves:

• 10+ years’ experience in Financial Services or Banking, with a strong background in release management and enterprise applications.
• Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and coordinate complex release schedules.
• Strong understanding of SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) and DevOps practices.
• Experience implementing ITIL-based Release Management frameworks.
• Hands-on expertise with DevOps tools, JIRA, or ServiceNow (highly desirable).
• Excellent stakeholder management
• Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives and managing change effectively.
• Core Banking experience is highly desirable
