About us
We are a small artisan sourdough bakery located in Bangalow with a passion for creating amazing baked goods, all from scratch. We have a small team of professionals who are devoted to very high standard of quality. No wholesale baking, we focus on our locals and aim to make the highest quality products each day.
You will have room to grow and work independently, this is a huge opportunity to advance your skills and work closely with a devoted team. Must be a team player and work efficiently, day shifts only with the possibility of some 5am starts also. This role is Tuesday-Saturday, set day 5 days a week (38hrs a week).
We produce a range of artisan breads, laminated pastries and housemade cakes and slices on site, and also a range of custom stacked cakes made to order. We are looking for a pastry chef to complete our kitchen team. We take pride in our cakes and products, we have a high standard and a distinct style. The successful candidate must display high levels of motivation, be able to self pace, have excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, creativity and a willingness to work within a team to produce a range of beautiful products. There is plenty of room to grow and expand your experience. We do not do any wholesale, we only bake for our retail store.

what we are looking for:
Serious passion for cake decorating and previous professional cake decorating experience is highly desirable
Experience in baking in a commercial kitchen
Experience working with multiple icings buttercream, ganaches and fillings
Be able to work under time restrictions unsupervised
understand quality and importance of consistency
What to expect:
decorating multiple special occasion cakes, including multiple layers and custom creations
Handling and prepping food ingredients
Assisting with standard kitchen duties and cleaning
Use various decorations and techniques to decorate cakes, including buttercream skills, piping and achieving smooth edges on stacked cakes
Baking and icing cakes, cupcakes, slices and brownies for our retail store
measuring and cutting of slices
Have full knowledge of food handling and food safety
Day shifts only, 5 days a week. Tuesday- Saturday
