Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 + Super

We’re now on the hunt for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and take The Midway’s food offering to the next level.

The Role:
As Head Chef, you’ll be responsible for the overall kitchen operation — from menu design and food quality to team leadership and cost control. We're looking for someone with creativity, strong leadership skills, and a love for creating top-notch pub-style and modern Australian dishes.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
· Leading a small, motivated kitchen team with a hands-on approach
· Designing and executing seasonal menus and daily specials
· Maintaining consistently high food standards and presentation
· Managing food costs, inventory, and supplier relationships
· Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
· Recruiting, training, and mentoring kitchen staff
· Collaborating with management on events, functions, and new offerings

What We're Looking For:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Head Chef or Sous Chef role
· Proven experience in managing kitchen operations and teams
· Strong understanding of cost control, stock management, and GP targets
· A creative flair with a passion for fresh, quality ingredients
· Exceptional leadership and communication skills
· Reliable, organised, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
· Trade qualifications and current food safety certifications
