We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially astute SMP Estimator to join a thriving privately held consulting firm in Perth. This is a pivotal role that will see you join a highly experienced Estimating team with impressive Tier 1 relationships across the WA Resources market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for SMP scopes across a range of EPC, EPCM, and D&C projects.
• Develop accurate BOQs, take-offs, and scope clarifications from structural and mechanical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, models, and technical specifications to ensure estimate accuracy.
• Assist in the development of bid strategies and tender clarifications with the commercial and project teams.
• Provide risk and opportunity analysis and cost benchmarking for various SMP packages.
• Liaise with project managers, schedulers, and construction managers to validate buildability, productivity factors, and execution methodology.
• Ensure all estimates comply with internal governance and client submission standards.
• Assist in post-tender negotiations and cost revalidation during project award.
• Maintain a database of unit rates and completed project benchmarks for continuous improvement in future bids.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• 7+ years' experience in SMP Estimating within mining, resources, oil & gas, heavy industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in the construction industry.
• Proven ability to read and interpret complex mechanical and structural drawings
• Experience in first principles estimating, cost modelling, and resource-based estimation techniques.
• High proficiency in estimating software tools (such as Candy, Expert Estimation, Benchmark, or similar).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
• Familiarity with Australian Standards, project specifications, and construction methodologies relevant to SMP scopes.
• Prior experience working for EPC/EPCM contractors or direct consulting experience
